Isnt it like that?!
the average internet-user is from the so-called "developed countries"
AND WE ARE the root of the destruction-problem of our planet...!!

so my suggestion:
propagate to software/ hardware developers not to forget those who
cannot / or counciously do not want to buy a new set of hardware every
year, and throw the old one on the scrap...

it is a horror to try to access most webpages with html 3.2 and a simple
386er -though the information-content of most of these web-pages goes
against zero...

an impulse as solution to the developers:
check "at the entrance" with what hardware the user enters and branch to
adapted pages that do NOT overcharge the users hardware...

keep the average user in mind!!!

it cant be /needs not to be a problem...

just my opinion, thomas
