Benefits and goals of At-Large involvement

> What are the benefits and goals of At-Large involvement?

I see two main benefits:

1) giving people (at least the ones who take the time to get involved) a
voice
   in deciding issues that come up as the Internet evolves,

2) increased potential to uncover flaws in proposed actions.


> What would you, personally, like to gain from being involved in ICANN?

After 30+ years in the computer business, I'd like to give something
back to a
community that was very good to me.  Hopefully, this will be a way that
I can
do that.


> In envisioning an At-Large membership, what do you see as its greatest potential
> contributions to ICANN?

Broad input on key issues that are under consideration.


> What are the negatives of having an At-Large Membership?

It will take longer to decide issues since more diverse input will have
to be
considered.
