I agree that the challenge is to get the mainstream press and the public
involved in the discussion.  If you ask most people outside of the Tech
world (and even some inside it!) about ICANN, they have no idea what you are
talking about.  We need to change that somehow.

This sounds good, but it would look like an "Internet sales tax" to many,
which is already a hotly debated topic here.  I'd rather see ICANN funded
from an very small access fee attached to each ISP bill, and a similar
sliding-scale fee charged to each company's Internet connectivity bill,
based on number of employees.
