This is a real important basis for further discussion. Try it the other
way. The TM and commercial interests need participation to protect them
from the overbearing consumers. I don't think so!

We do not pass rules and elect officials and form industry regulatory
bodies to protect multibillion dollar corporations. I could be wrong but
I do not believe there is a single country where a corporation has a right
to representation in government, by way of a vote. ALSC has it completely
backwards.

To be fair we are simply watching a transition where ICANN must change
from a coordinator of industry concerns to a representative body
regulating that industry. As a strictly scientific technical coordinator
alliances with the business is ok, actually necessary. As a policy making
body it is downright fraud. I personally do not believe it can be both.
Something has to give.
