You are quite correct in wanting to hear from a number of voices.  I have a 
reasonable solution... ask ICANN to create a public discussion forum at 
http://forum.icann.org/

The public is quite aware of that venue, and much less aware of the location 
of your current forum.   Location, location, location... that's what you need 
if you seek a good flow of traffic.
