True, it is nice to hear from an alternative voice that ICANN policy
directly stifles free market competition.

Again true, but convenience is only in poor taste if there are sinister
ulterior motives. That VeriSign has been grandfathered into the good old
boy network seems far more indecent to me than this guy supporting a
democratic process because it serves his interests.
It is convenient to me to support At-Large... Am I therefore suspect
because I voted? It is convenient for ICANN to justify its existence...
is it therefore suspect?

Trademark law ought to be modernized to allow the inevitable
commoditization of domain names, not jury-rigged into DNS as the result
of legacy legal baggage.
