[ALSC-Forum] PSO statement

Alex,

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but this PSO statement appears 
to have been released in conjunction with the PSO's scheduled teleconference 
for Oct.26.  From what I can ascertain, this teleconference never attracts 
more than six or seven participants, and in this particular case the 
statement was issued with the preface "The PSO PC has not reached consensus 
on comments to the ALSC document".

Further, two out of the four member organizations had no comment to make.  
And a review of the PSO Discuss list indicates only "one" comment was made -- 
a request to know the deadline for comments in response to a message sent by 
Denise Michel.  

There has been no public discussion of the issues in the PSO, no lengthy 
debate or consideration.  This message is as much of a sham as the pathetic 
attempt by the Committee to garner support for their position.
