I also agree.
As I wrote the other day, ICANN is designed to be a "global" organization, but
if the door to AtLarge is closed or narrowed, then it will be more dominated
by selected few in the North (or West). I do not want to personally blame all
the good people on the North side or in the West, but we really should
keep this global balance for Internet as a whole.
Even I have slight difference in details on AtLarge matters with say
Pindar, Hans,
Esther or ALSC, I think the primary focus now should be the direction, mission
and cause of ICANN in larger context.
GLOCOM, the organization I work with, have sent our expression of interest
to ALSC
already and they asked us to write it in more detail. We will do that soon.
I hope others do similar move both personal and as groups asap.
