Dear Joop,
What I think is of the essence is to speed in setting up a memberhsip name
collection system on the web site. The reasons why are to know who support
us and for the ICANN not to know how many of us there are. Could you mail
me a registration page asap so I put it on site?
Dear Michael,
if FITUG is ready to offer the hosting may be could I transfer the
icannatlarge.org name to you as soon as I can find how. I do not know
who/what FITUG is but you offered reliable support to the @large upto now
and I trust you can do it. The machine I have the site on is a test machine.
Dear Pindar,
to be credible bohe for @large Members and for BoD we have to organize our
founders list on the site and organize our Member registration form. I
suggest that we ask every registrating Member his country and the nearest
largest town. So we may form chapters by country or by large cities. Also
if they accept to serve as Chapter secreiatriat (giving their name and mail).
Dear All,
the real issue is that we are the people and we do not have real ties into
the ICANN/IANA structures. Yet the ccTLDs tell we are their legitimacy
through the Local Community concept, but do not actually support us. I
think the solution is to join forces into the NIC concept, spelled out as
National Internet Centers, uniting the ccTLD, the LIC - all the people -
the national @large center. Each getting its legitimacy and interest to the
user from the common synergy.
This will result in building for example an http://france.icannatlarge.org
page where will be listed:
- the AFNIC link and data
- the france@large addreess and elements as local @large Chapter
- the link to the French GAC representative
- a list of the French internet newspapers
- a list of the French Consumers associations and the name of their
Internet specialist as we come and meet them
- the link to the Parliament and Govs associations and bodies related to
the Internet
- links to the Industry and user associations
- link to the content providers unions and associations
- link to a Yahoo, etc.. page on the Internet organizations
- link to the various mailing lists on Internet and society issues
- progressively a directory of who is who in the French Internet picture
(people will subscribe by themselves)
etc..
and for each of you to replace "French" by your country.. Getting a format
would certaintly help each other in annimating the @large in every country:
what is missed in your country giving you a good motive to propose it and
make people moving. Specially at Govs.
