I was going to respond to Christian, but you've said it so well I'll just
stand by your statements above!

I am not convinced that any other body would have the potential that ICANN
has right now to gather enough support to positively effect the growth of
the Internet.  But only if a strong, influential At Large is present within
it to reassure the rest of the world outside of the US Internet community
that their concerns are being equitably addressed! For that reason it is
essential that we nurture what has begun to grow in the past week or so, and
make it successful.
