The At-Large Study Committee would like to thank all of the participants in
this forum for sharing their views and contributing to the important debate
about the role of individual Internet users in ICANN. With submission of
the "Implementation Report" to the ICANN Board last month (which built on
the recommendations in the ALSC's "Final Report" submitted in November,
2001), the ALSC has completed its mandate. (See www.atlargestudy.org)

Although the ALSC has concluded its tasks, "At-Large work" continues. In
its March 14 Resolution the Board acknowledged that ICANN should have "a
robust At Large mechanism for meaningful, informed participation by Internet
users of the kind recommended in the ALSC report," and called upon the ICANN
community "to devote sustained energy to the creation of At Large structures
built upon bottom-up, self-organized, local Internet community institutions
and other organizations that meet the general criteria of openness,
participation, and self-sustainability..." (See
http://www.icann.org/minutes/prelim-report-14mar02.htm) We hope you will be
engaged in these efforts.

The ALSC website -- www.atlargestudy.org -- will continue to be hosted by
ICANN as an archived information source. This forum on At-Large membership
will be closed as of April 30. Participants are encouraged to become
involved in other forums that seek to further At-Large involvement in ICANN.
In the days remaining, you are invited to post links to other forums that
may be used to continue At-Large discussions and organizing efforts.

Again, thank you for your participation.
