Denise,
Will you be responsible for closing the ALSC list on May 31, or will this be
an action on the part of ICANN staff? Is there any reason why a permanent
ICANN At-Large Forum can't be opened in the ICANN website? They open forums
for everything else from registrar data escrow to A Unique, Authoritative
Root for the DNS. Why not a forum for At-Large organizing activities?
One gets the impression that ICANN only seeks to treat the At-large as a
"mechanism" and not as a "structure" worthy of support. I guess that
"mechanisms" don't need to receive the benefit of an ICANN-sponsored
discussion list. We are essentially being told, "Take your conversations
elsewhere -- we don't want you", but we'll be nice enough to let you know
where else you can go during the course of the next three weeks before you're
evicted.
Great job of "nurturing"...
